Where should I stay in Lyon for a romantic weekend?

Lyon abounds with places for a stay for two, but some MiHotel Suites have been designed especially for romantic getaways: a bathtub in the room, a jacuzzi, a private terrace, a fireplace or views over Lyon's rooftops. Historic neighbourhoods such as Vieux Lyon, Bellecour and Les Brotteaux provide the ideal setting for a timeless weekend.

Which hotel in Lyon should I choose for a jacuzzi or a bathtub in the room?

Several MiHotel Suites offer wellbeing amenities right in the room: a private jacuzzi, a freestanding bathtub, a Nordic bath or an XXL shower. Some Suites also have private terraces or fireplaces to extend the experience in an elegant and intimate atmosphere.

What is the difference between MiHotel and a conventional aparthotel?

MiHotel reinvents the hotel experience by combining the comfort of a premium apartment with the services of a 4-star hotel. Each Suite has its own identity, design and atmosphere. Unlike a standardised aparthotel, MiHotel focuses on unique places in the heart of the city, self-service arrival and an experience that is freer, more intimate and more contemporary.

What services and extras can be booked at MiHotel?

MiHotel offers a wide range of à la carte services to personalise your stay: delivered breakfasts, romantic decoration, massages, champagne, wellbeing experiences or special touches. The aim is to create a tailor-made stay, whether romantic, professional or simply devoted to relaxation.

Are the MiHotel Suites located right in the centre of Lyon?

Yes. All MiHotel Suites are located in Lyon's most sought-after neighbourhoods: Presqu’île, Bellecour, Vieux Lyon, Brotteaux or close to Part-Dieu station. You enjoy an ideal location for discovering the city on foot, dining out, working or visiting Lyon's iconic landmarks.

Why book directly on the MiHotel website rather than on Booking or Airbnb?

Some Suites also have a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area or a work corner, ideal for working in an elegant and soothing setting.

What is the Grenier à Sel?

Built in the 15th century, this building was used to store and control salt, a precious commodity at the time — a rare good, heavily taxed through the ‘gabelle’.

Salt meant wealth, the preservation of food, and therefore life itself. Pérouges, a town of merchants and craftsmen, traded in it, and the Grenier à Sel was then an essential stop for the inhabitants: a place for meeting, exchanging and negotiating.

Restored today with respect and care, the Grenier à Sel remains a living witness to the past of Pérouges, which is listed among Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.

Every stone, every beam still bears the imprint of time, and of the hands and voices that shaped its history.

We invite you to savour this piece of ancient soul, and to feel its tranquillity and strength.

How do I get to Pérouges?

You can get to Pérouges

- By car: you can park in the car parks provided at the entrance to the town. Vehicles are strictly prohibited inside the medieval town.

- By train to Meximieux station, then a 20-minute walk to your Suite, or a 10-minute taxi ride.

Beware of heavy and bulky suitcases: access to the medieval town is difficult as it is steep and entirely cobbled. The access path is not recommended for anyone with reduced mobility.

Where can I park in Pérouges?

You can park close to your Suite at the Grenier à Sel. The medieval town is pedestrianised to preserve its historic charm. Visitor car parks are located below the village, a few minutes' walk from the Grenier à Sel.

Arriving on foot, by way of the ramparts, is already part of the experience.

Which Suite is right for me?

There is bound to be a MiHotel Suite that suits you, whatever the reason for your stay: it all depends on what you have in mind: Romantic getaway: a bathtub, soft lighting, breathtaking viewsBusiness trip: a workspace, high-speed Wi-Fi, close to Part-Dieu station or a metro ride from BellecourWeekend with friends: spacious Suites with several bedsA truly special occasion: ultra-luxury Suites with signature servicesEach Suite page details the amenities, capacity and atmosphere. If you are unsure, our team can guide you according to your expectations, your tastes and the nature of your stay.

Is there a better time or season to visit?

Pérouges can be explored all year round.

Spring and summer show off the flower-decked façades and lively terraces at their best.

Autumn brings an exceptional golden light to the old stonework.

Winter, quieter and more secluded, reveals an intimate, almost timeless atmosphere. The Christmas market in the medieval town of Pérouges is well worth experiencing at least once.

Each season transforms the town and offers a different experience.

What is there to do on a weekend in Pérouges?

A weekend in Pérouges is always an excellent idea. Settle in at MiHotel, in the former Grenier à Sel, stroll through the cobbled lanes, explore the ramparts, discover the local artisans, taste the famous galette de Pérouges, dine in a historic inn, or set off for a walk across the Ain plain.

Yes. Children love the medieval atmosphere, the cobbled lanes and the ramparts. The Suite Lys, with its extra beds, is particularly well suited to families. Please note, however, that pushchairs are strongly discouraged on the town's cobblestones, which make wheeling one almost impossible. Bring a baby carrier instead.
